Summary: Of all the massage videos I own, this one I can't do without
Comments: Over the years I've collected numerous massage videos. I've been disappointed that most are either sensual in nature, or don't show enough advanced techniques. With Massage with Confidence, I found a gold mine.
The massage sequence shown was amazing. It was a wonderful combination of gentle, soothing strokes and deeper techniques. Robert (the guy on the video) even used his elbows for deep pressure. I was impressed also by the clear instruction that he gave with each technique.
This video gave me some basic anatomy and physiology to understand what I was going to massage, but even more important, it showed me the "caution" areas so I don't hurt anyone.
If you buy just one video, make it this one.

It's a good video to put on in the background while giving or getting a massage more so than for learning techniques to massage your partner.

It is very deep traditional knowlege from the origin of massage, and a must-have for any healing practioner.
Dr. Yang teaches you how to relax, relieve tension and get stagnant qi moving, and also how to deal with injuries, so they don't become serious chronic problems.
This was a very serious exciting video, which really made me feel confident about my massage intuition.

Summary: Helpful for beginners
Comments: My fiancè and I recieved this video as a Christmas Present. It has proven to be useful for learning the basic strokes. After learning only the first portion of the video, he successfully rid me of a sore shoulder in 10 minutes versus his usual half-hour.(not too mention that I would still be sore) While the video is very dry, it is great for naming and showing basic steps. Once we conquer this, on to more advanced techniques!

Summary: Don't waste your money
Comments: Dry? This production is a mouthful of alum. But an instructional video doesn't need to be entertaining, only informative, and this one fails badly. The instructor is a chiropractor who performs the session in a dress shirt (without rolling up his sleeves), and he is stilted, off-balance and awkward. His explanations of the strokes are cursory, poorly done also. As a professional therapist, I can tell you this guy is nobody to emulate. I give it one star for the nice photo on the jacket.
"Massage With Confidence" is far superior.

Comments: By the time I was settled into watching the video it was over. Too much time was spent in "fluff" and not enough in actual massage. Massage with Confidence is a far better video for the money, as well as Massage for Health and Esalen massage. Don't waste your money on this.

Comments: I have been a massage practioner for over 10 years, and have studied many stlyes. This is a great tool for those who want to intergrate there styles together and create a whole.
It allows you to see that each body is diffrent therefore they have several diffrent practioners and clients in this video giving and recieving massage.
It's also a 75 minutes video which is a perfect pace.
It also tells you the the history of Esalen Massage and where the practice developed.
It is the best video I've purchased throughout my practice. The price is the lowest one for this quality of work don't let this fool you. All the best to you Debra

Comments: I found that the video gave a lot of interesting information on the origin and theory behind each of the massages they described. Not only that, but it also included many different massage strokes for the four different types of message; Swedish, Reflexology, Tui Na, and Shiatsu. Along with these massages were easy to follow charts on the different meridians for accupressure. With this instructional video and relaxing cd I now feel like a pro.

Summary: Surprise!
Comments: Ever rent or buy a movie for one reason, but end up having the film pleasantly surprise you for other reasons? That's what happened w/me when I bought FULL BODY MASSAGE.
Granted, the primary reason most people (like me!) are going to purchase this movie is the implication that Mimi Rogers is going to be naked thru most of it. Not to worry, the movie delivers in this aspect. I HATE it when some flicks have the promise of being saturated with nudity, but come to find out there is maybe a grand total of 5 seconds worth in the entire film. That's not the case with this movie.
Rogers has a unique, exotic elegance. Hers' is not the type of beauty that you will find on a bikini poster. Rather, her appearance has a much more serene and mysterious flavor to it. This, combined with the fact that she is middle-aged, give this production a nice mature (not in the sexual sense), almost sophisticated tenor.
The other major character is played by the Australian actor Bryan Brown. He doesn't seem to do too many roles, but he does pop up every now and again. He is a massage therapist who "sits in" for the normal therapist of Rogers' character. His accent is a nice touch, although I did get a bit tired of him pronouncing massage as "mAssage" (with a long A sound).
What is really refreshing about this film, however, is that it truly tells the story about both characters. It also delves into the various aspects, histories and techniques of massage therapy. Instead of being just a film for a male audience, I would argue that it is a borderline date movie. There's a lot more substance to it than you may think. The incidental music is also very fitting, giving the film an overall soft-jazz feel.
The only criticism I have is that Rogers' character only pays the masseuse $100 when its all over. Then, she is told, $100 is too much. That's an absurdly low cost. First, given all of the myriad techniques that he did, he must have been there for hours. I know that $100 won't even get you a HALF hour at some of the most respectable massage parlors. Second, it would cost a whole lot more than that for the masseuse to come and set up shop at your home (which was the case here). Third, given the fact that Roger's character lives in a bona-fide mansion and drives a brand new Mercedes, it is difficult to fathom her inviting bargain-basement massage therapists into her home.
All that aside, this is not just a good erotic movie, but is a genuinely good movie, period. If you're a fan of Mimi Rogers, Bryan Brown and / or full body massages, this one is a can't miss.
