Comments: If you like to do aerobics and toning together and specifically want to work on your lower body, this tape may be for you. Co-instructors Tamilee Webb, Donna Richardson, and Tracy York begin by each leading their own aerobics segments. They utilize easy-to-follow dance moves, throwing in variations like a latin or funk beat. After the aerobics section, you move on to the target toning for the lower body, begining with standing exercises (lunges, plies, etc.) and then eventually moving to the floor. Again, each instructor leads you through a different segment of tough leg, hip, and [glutes] work. The exercises themselves are nothing new, but they're clearly effective. All three instructors provide very good cueing, but I found them each to be much more low key than they are on other tapes. However, if you are looking for a basic aerobics and toning workout, you will probably like this tape.

Comments: Like all of the tapes in the Quick Fix series, this video consists of three 10-minute workouts that can be done separately or together. Minna Lessing takes the lead on this tape, with Julie Upton and Nancy Popp in the background. Although short, each workout is fairly intense, but you can stay motivated by watching the countdown clock in the lower right corner. The first workout targets both legs and arms. After a very brief warmup, Minna leads you through a mix of traditional toning exercises such as bicep curls, squats, and lunges; there's also several sets of french presses for the triceps. Many of the exercises consist of leg/arm combinations, and some are pretty tough. The cool-down consists of only one arm stretch. The second workout focuses solely on legs, mostly via squats and lunges. It also contains some leg extensions, both to the side and to the front, and two brief stretches at the end. Finally, workout three is for the arms. Biceps are targeted through single, double, and hammer curls, and tricep exercises include the french press and extensions. Several exercises for shoulders are also included; these are done at a slower 2-count as opposed to the tempo pace of the other exercises. Like the first program, a single stretch is offered for cool-down. Not a lot of instruction is given by Minna, but she and the others are friendly and motivating without being overly peppy. The Quick Fix series is great for those who are time-crunched, and this tape is no exception. For full-body strength training, trying doing all three programs on this tape combined with one of the Quick Fix Tight Abs workouts, and you'll have a great 40-minute workout that just flies by.

Comments: While the squats and lunges are good, the floor workout is horrible! Even if you're at an intermediate fitness level, she does endless repetitions (say 100) tiring the leg you're working to exhaustion that you're forced to stop and thus don't get the complete workout. Other workout videos switch legs between sets, but not this one. The cool down does not have a good stretch and why does Claudia stretch her shoulders in the warm up? Claudia looks awkward exercising, she's naturally thin. All the video editing is annoying.

Comments: I really love this workout. This video is divided into three sections; beginners, intermediate and advanced. Your suppose to do each section 2 to 3 times per week for two weeks before advancing to the next level. I've been doing this video 3 times a week for the last two weeks and I can already see a difference on my thighs. I have muscle definition and my legs feel alot firmer, too.

Comments: Callanetics is designed to be done slowly, with very small increments of movement, which make this method good for people of all ages, and at any level of athletic ability. This tape claims to: "Make legs tighter and longer looking/Eliminate sagging knees/Tighten gooshy, sagging skin/Create beautiful, shapely legs". There's a lot of stretching in this particular "Quick Callanetics" tape, and like all of these workouts, one is instructed to "work at one's own pace". The production is simple, with 3 students demonstrating along with Callan, who's lovely, musical voice is a big plus in making her videos enjoyable. If like me, you have weak or problem knees, you may have to modify several of the exercises, until your knees get stronger. "Pelvic Weave", "Plie and Balance", "Pelvic Rotation", "Pelvic Scoop", and "Front Thigh Stretch" tend to be hard on my knees, making this the Callanetics tape I use the least. I highly recommend, for people like me, the "Quick Callanetics: Stomach" video, which is entirely stress-free for the knees. These exercises take up very little space, but you will need a barre, or a sturdy piece of furniture (for leg stretches) as a substitute. You'll feel relaxed after doing Callan's workouts, as the calmness of them bring peace of mind, as well as tremendous benefits to the body.

Comments: This video will definitely help tone up your legs, but since it's only a 30 minute video you can't expect to see results anytime soon. It's a good starting point for beginners and a good way to learn what type of moves will tone your legs. I've had this video for about 3 years, and don't use it often, but when I do I'm always surprised by the level of exertion you can get from only 30 minutes of toning. I'd recommend this video as a stepping stone for someone just beginning to get in shape, and as a change in routine for advanced exercisers.

Comments: Gilad is a great instructor and I have seen his "Bodies in Motion" on TV, so I knew what I was buying. Due to my busy lifestyle I had to stop going to the gym on regular basis, but still felt the need to do something. This tape is a great solution, because you can exercise in the privacy your own home. I felt the results after first exercise. I think even when time allows me to go to the gym again, I will still use this tape for shaping.

Comments: This is an awesome tape that works all of your legs and butt! It even has a great warm-up/calf work section at the beginning, not many tapes include calves. It's a hard tape, but you know you've really accomplished something when you're through. I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to change your lower body. Karen is a very precise instructor, I would have been intimidated if I were just starting out. She wants you to do each move just right so you get the most out of your workout. She has gorgeous legs herself, she must know what she's talking about!

Comments: This is one of the first exercise tapes I ever bought, I was skeptical about the ponytail wearing beefcake on the cover but it was on sale so I went for. I was taken aback at first by the super silly nut warm-up (think Jerry Lewis trying to do a rasta-man impression) but then I kind of warmed up to Tony, he comes across as kind of a goofball but when he is talking business and form he is all serious. For an absolute never worked out a day in my life beginner (I am 30) I felt warmth and encouragement from Tony and I still find this tape challenging as it appeals to all fitness levels. I am in the best shape I have ever been in my life and this tape was my beginning. If you are Mr or Ms workout and super serious this tape is not for you. If you can approach working out with a little humor and a smile, appreciate some warm encouragement and want to feel your buns and thighs burning, go for it... as Tony says "If you don't squeeze it, no one else will!" gotta love him for that.

Comments: This video changed the shape of my lower body. No I'm not exaggerating. I've always had problems with that area, I'm a "pear shape". My hips, thighs, and calves have never looked and felt so lean and strong. That, combined with drinking tons of water every day, has me wearing shorts and bathings suits again! Thanks Karen.

This video is compiled from the classics series, with hard hover squats from volume six with Jayne Poteet (Complete Aerobic Weight Training) these are HARD! .. and they choose to put this section at the end! There are alot of squats and lunges and leg presses... I think that you should buy this video if you enjoy the FIRM classics series and are at least intermediate in level in my opinion! I guess you could modify for beginners, but I think that is more aimed at the intermediate to advanced exerciser! -this tape is difficult but results are fabulous!

Comments: I purchased this tape years ago. I was quite surprised by the intensity of the workout. After a while I moved on to other tapes and came back to this one recently. I am still amazed that I, an advanced exerciser can still feel sore using this tape. A word of caution to any beginners or even seasoned exercisers who are not use to The Firm style, start off slow. This tape is not enjoyable at all, it is about pain, pain, and more pain. If you can survive the last segment of the hover squats god bless you. I believe this tape will get just about most legs into great shape. I rotate this tape on a weekly basis with another leg tape and rollerskating to break up the routine. Very nice results. Also, if you want good music, this workout is not for you. This is the classic Firm tapes from mid-1980's until 1992. The music is cheesy, but video quality and scenery great. Exceptional workout!

Comments: She's great. I don't know why Kathy Kaehler doesn't have a fitness video empire. A personable, encouraging instructor who shows good form all the way, and a tough, semi-aerobic, mostly-standing leg workout that pulls no punches. You're going to work hard, but in bite-size pieces that are easy to chew. There are 3 10-minute segments here, each segment progressively harder (really just more plyometric, propulsive moves, Kathy refers to them as 'power' moves). Very effective workout yet she's great to work out with (and easy to take), so you might be popping this tape in often!

Comments: This is a fantastic tape. This workout really works your entire upper body. My back, arms and abls are all visibly tighter, and my posture has greatly improved. I'm very glad I found this tape. I have never gotten any results with my arms before. Ms. Voight takes each exercise slowly, so you get the full benefit of each movement. I've used tapes where they do everything too quickly for it to do any good. By the way, you don't need a step if you can improvise with your equipment a little. I chose to buy an incline board instead and my workout room has a step.

Comments: I loved this videos for the first six weeks after I purchased it. I saw a very visible change in fat deposition, muscle contours, and definition. Unfortunately, after about 6 weeks the video became too easy. The video is still really great for a quick workout if I don't have time to do one of my other videos, but I don't rely on it for a complete workout.

Comments: This video of Tamilee's has the workout feel of her classic and original tapes, but is a wee bit easier. The half an hour length is why. (Her other lower body tapes are 40 minutes or more) This one is full of lunges and squats, a few plies and a quick twist in the feet to make it a set of wider squats. I have weak ankles and this part didn't bother me, I should add. Then you come down to the floor for some glute squeezes. I wish there were more, but you could add some ankle weights on your hip bones to make it harder. That is what I had to start to do to challenge myself after a while. The second section has more floor work. Again, I wished she did more reps, but I lay my 5lb ankle weight above my knee and get added resistance that way. I still like the workout enough to give it 5 stars, instead of 4. If I add weight, it is a good workout. I didn't care for the inner thigh, but I use my Pilates ring instead. The workout would be great for intermediates, but you would have to modify for a challenge!
