The Juiceman's Power of Juicing ASIN: 0446365483
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: A Mouth-watering Book
Comments: This book made me want to juice so much I just went out and purchased a juicer. It tells the reader all about the health benefits of juicing, the different kinds of nutrients in many fruits and vegetables, and why juicing is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle. So many diseases can be prevented if people would just juice more and made an effort to have a diet rich in foods from the earth. If you want to learn about juicing and crave fresh fruit and vegetable juices, buy Jay Kordich's book.

Complete Book of Juicing: Your Delicious Guide to Youthful Vitality ASIN: 0761511261
Customer's Rating: 4 Summary: Synopsis
Comments: I love the almost complete information in this book. The author does a very good job of explaining the benefits of juicing. He has a section on the fruits and vegetables with the benefits of juicing each. There is a nice section on recipes(both with nutritional value and caloric content). There is a section on weight loss by juicing and a section which recommends different recipes to juice for different health problems. This book has great information nutritionally and it is easy reading. I did find it prejudice towards the Juiceman Juicer line of products, that is why it came down one star level in the ratings. The study he used to promote the Juiceman was incomplete.

Ultimate Juicing: Delicious Recipes for over 125 of the Best Fruit and Vegetable Juice Combination ASIN: 0761525769
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: A Complete Guide that Doesn't Take Itself too Seriously!
Comments: Allow me to be blunt--I don't buy into the whole health-craze notion that juicing is the silver bullet for ultimate physical health and spiritual awakening. I'm just a no-frills, moderately healthy woman who wants to enjoy the luxury of fresh-squeezed juices in her own kitchen without having to pay a gourmet price for them. To that end, I splurged on a good but affordable juice extractor and bought this book to learn the basics of making homemade juices. As with everything I purchase online, I checked out other customers' reviews of various juicing information and cookbooks beforehand, and Rodnitzky's book appeared to contain what I needed without too much froufrou, "juicing will change your life" craziness. What I found when the book arrived was that not only does Ultimate Juicing provide all the basic information one needs to make healthy and delicious juices at home, it also avoids the pitfalls of hard-sell promotional content("these recipes will work best with such-and-such brand juice extractor") and extravagant expectations for juicing's health and/or spiritual benefits. In 8 concise, sensible chapters, Rodnitzky describes the nutritional value of fresh-made juices; proper selection, preparation, and storage of produce; juicer selection (without the hard-sell: the juicers are described in terms of operation with brand names mentioned only as examples); and recipes for basic, health-boosting, exotic, and alcoholic juice drinks. The core information and excellent variety of recipes easily offset the silliness of the recipe titles, and the comprehensive index makes the book a handy reference for everyday use in the kitchen. I would recommend this book for veteran and novice juicers alike, regardless of their physical fitness or spiritual level.

Juicing for Life ASIN: 0895295121
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Outstanding
Comments: This book is informative and very useful. Its an obvious fact that fresh fruits and vegetables play a huge factor in our well-being and general health, they keep all kinds of ailments and diseases at bay. Cancer has everything to do with diet - it has been widely proven that people with the disease that had a rich diet of fruit and vegetables, actually went into recession. Heredity only plays a small part - there is no guarantee that you get the disease. This book is not meant to cure anything - simply supplements your diet with vital nutrients needed to keep healthy and build a strong immune system. I love it and highly recommend it to anyone.

Total Juicing: Over 125 Healthful and Delicious Ways to Use Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Juices and Pulp ASIN: 0452269288
Customer's Rating: 4 Summary: A good book for beginners.
Comments: This book contains several delicious recipes; the "Tomato Salsa Drink" gets an A+. Its greatest strength are the recipes for the pulp, the fiber remnants. Each recipe lists the vitamins found in each drink, as well as the health benefits. The Index is lacking and could be more specific. If you're looking for a recipe employing a specific fruit or vegetable, not ALL the recipes using that item are listed. Still, it is a useful book, especially for one 'new' to juicing.

Julie Stafford's Juicing for Health: Over 200 Recipes for Fruit and Vegetable Juices, Soups, Smoothies and Sorbets ASIN: 0804830401
Customer's Rating: 4 Summary: good basic juicing book
Comments: Some basic juicing information is given along with lots of recipes. But some of the information on juicing is taken straight from Jay Juiceman's book, right down to a few unsited direct quotes. The part that bothers me is that she fails to give him any credit anywhere in the book, not even a recommended reading list. So if it's more juice recipes you're after, get this book, if it's more detailed information on juicing, get the book she quietly used as a source _The Juiceman's Power of Juicing_ by Jay Kordich.

The Juice Lady's Guide to Juicing for Health: Unleashing the Healing Power of Whole Fruits and Vegetables ASIN: 0895299992
Customer's Rating: 3 Summary: informative yet redundant
Comments: Last year at x-mas my wife and decided that since we just had a baby and funds were low, that we would buy each other one gift that we picked out around $20.00. I picked a beard trimmer and my wife picked out the Juice Lady's book. So I thought I would be nice and buy her two Juice Lady's books. Well the books came and I looked through them, and found to my surprise that the same recipes were printed throughout both books. A lot of the recipes can be used for the same things. So instead of printing the recipe then putting what it can be used for the recipes are reprinted over and over. So in retrospect I suggest buying one book instead of two or three with different titles, because they have the same recipes. I hope this has been of some help for those looking to buy this or other Juice Lady books.

The Juice Lady's Juicing for High Level Wellness and Vibrant Good Looks ASIN: 0609803492
Customer's Rating: 4 Summary: Good, but nothing new
Comments: I give this book 4 stars because the information presented is excellent and well organized. However, much of the information in this book appeared previously in Calbom's book "Juicing For Life". If you own Juicing For Life, then this book is of somewhat reduced value to you; however, its prevailing method of organization makes it a helpful companion. Included in this book are the many good recipes expected in such a volume, plus a series of nutritional essays about the role of juicing in a healthy lifestyle. Cherie Calbom also provides descriptions and guidelines for several different types of diets, from weight loss to gallbladder cleansing. If this is your first book on juicing, this book is excellent. If this is your fifth, its a handy one to have. If this book is your tenth on the subject, then you likely have much of this information already. All things considered, this is a quality book at a great price, and a welcomed addition to any juicing library.

The Joy of Juicing: Recipe Guide: Creative Cooking With Your Juicer ASIN: 089529592X
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Good food utilizing my juicer
Comments: I bought this book for less than $10.00, and it has delicious recipes that are relatively simple to make, uses fresh food, and utilizes my juicer. I really enjoy the Cilantro Pesto Sauce. Only a few of the recipes are more work than I want to put in. The Mushroom Lasagna is one example in which you have to make the Zesty Pasta Sauce first and that is a recipe in itself. Overall, the recipes produce really tasty food that I can prepare in 20-30 minutes. Also it keeps the dust from settling on my juicer. At the end of the book, the author has included a sample menu using all his recipes in a day, and following this is a chart showing the nutrient composition of many of the ingredients used.

The Joy of Juicing: Creative Cooking With Your Juicer ASIN: 1583331026
Customer's Rating: 1 Summary: Expected more from Gary Null
Comments: After seeing Gary Null on PBS and reading many of his books, I began juicing to improve my poor health. Rather than carry around his thick books, I was looking for a juicing companion which I can keep in the kitchen near the juicer which would tell me which produce would help which ailment and specifically all the helpful vitamins, minerals, etc, how and why it would help, as in his other books. This is just a recipe book like so many others on the market -- not at all what I wanted and expected from Gary Null. He needs to write a new book, "Juicing for Your Health," or "Juicing to Live Forever," something to that effect to address our specific ailments, and for the already healthy, how to live healthy forever by juicing, tell us how much and how often we should juice for what outcome, how long does it take to experience some results, how to add a 'boost' and where to purchase them, etc. Tell us in baby steps how often and what to juice to improve particular illnesses. Many of us have more than one malady and I think I could figure out on my own how to incorporate or combine specific juice recipes to help more than one condition, for example, fibromyalgia, insomnia, hair loss, and chronic sinus headaches. Juices to avoid colds and flu would be helpful as well, for instance, my child is chronically ill with ear, sinus infections and various mild allergies and I juice for her to boost her immune system and avoid missed school days but I was hoping you could be more specific in what I could juice to help her. I would be interested in what could boost her brain power with her learning disabilities. I also attempt to juice for my pets but I feel I'm juicing blind without a specific guide, all I know is that onions can cause fatal blood diseases in pets. I look forward to a BETTER juice book, one I know Gary Null has the knowledge to put together, this one was a waste of time and money and such a disappointment! I would purchase a juice book by Gary Null which told me what a recipe would do for my family's health, photos are always nice, too. Got it, Gary Null? This book definitely missed the mark! What we need is information on juicing from all your books combined into one, I'm not interested in recipes without knowing why it would help and how by listing nutrition facts for each produce and/or each juice drink. My dad juiced briefly and stopped because it caused diarrhea, this should be addressed with how to avoid it when it would go away, etc. Gary, we need more info. Even if a recipe tastes good I don't want to bother if I don't know why, how and what it would help. A whole section on weight loss? why not a whole book on improving health to prolong life and diminish illness? I look forward to a COMPLETE healthy juicing book from Gary Null, not yet another recipe book!
