Hip Hop Shop ASIN: B00005RI8F
Customer's Rating: 3 Summary: Confusing
Comments: I'm 11 years old and I thought that it was hard to see the moves that they were doing. It was like looking in a mirror. I get confused with what leg to move and where to move it. Great moves though.

Hip Hop Animal Rock Workout ASIN: 0963494708
Customer's Rating: 4 Summary: The kids love it
Comments: The first couple of times we tried this video with my 3 and 7-year olds, we had a difficult time following the steps. The camera angle sometimes leaves off the feet so you're not sure what the steps are. I just had my kids wing it with whatever animal we were doing. That at least got them moving. After a few tries, they've been able to get the moves. Now they ask for the video several times a week.

Learn to Hip Hop ASIN: B00005OBQ7
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Mom got this for me and I enjoyed it
Comments: I don't know anything about hip hop dancing but after viewing this tape over and over I feel better about trying it out in a dance class that I have been afraid of going to.

Hip Hop Body Shop: The Hippest Hip Hop Aerobic Workout ASIN: 6303816312
Customer's Rating: 3 Summary: Music with a beat! Yeah!
Comments: The dance class veteran who criticized the video over not counting and left versus right doesn't get it- this video is NOT for dance class veterans. It is for people who like street dance. The music is dated, but better than most of the stuff out there masquerading as workout music. THe moves are NOT for beginners. If you have no coordination, don't buy this video. I disagree with the reviewer who argues it is not a workout. My husband and I (in our 30s) mastered the video in 4 sessions. We also lost weight doing it. It won't build muscle, but it works the abs very well. If you are in good shape already, it may not be the workout for you. It is not for the ballet and Darrin's Dance Grooves crowd. I have to admit, I like modern neo-soul, new jack swing, hiphop, and 80s r&b (anything from Run DMC to Luther, through Mary J. Blige). Most workouts assume r&b and modern urban music fans will simply go along with the neo-elevator music out there. I applaud anything that ditches the elevator music. At least this music had a beat to it.

Bellydance Fitness for Weight Loss: Hip Drop Hip Hop ASIN: B00006II7F
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: top quality workout and dancing
Comments: I am half Lebanese and have been bellydancing all my life. I am fully aware what great health benefits it has (I have 3 kids and it does not show). Also I am a big fan of Rania and of Veena and Neena (the same company produces their videos and I have all of them!). I think Rania's new videos are dynamite. She is responding to people who want to learn bellydance without having to hear Middle Eastern music, so all the workouts have different type of music. She is a real bellydancer and great teacher. I read some of the negative reviews and all I can think is that they are expecting the bellydance looking set and music, whereas this set is more high-tech. If you can just look at the quality of instruction and the moves and combinations, you will be very happy, she teaches a lot. You will be doing bellydance combinations by the end of the tape. You will learn alot and not realise you had a workout.

90's-Hip Hop Dance Aerobics ASIN: 630263539X
Customer's Rating: 2 Summary: Fun to watch, but not a good instructional video.
Comments: I was disappointed in this video. The "girls" in the video are all excellent dancers, and their moves are very interesting to watch, but the instructional part is very poor. They barely show you the steps, and when they do, it's very fast and hard to follow. Some of the steps are not demonstrated at all, and it's just assumed that you know how to do them. This is definately not a beginner video, and even if you are a good dancer, you need to have a good handle on hip-hop moves in order to follow along. You do get a good cardiovascular workout though, once/if you finally get the hang of it. I had to do a lot of rewinding, and watching the steps over and over, just to figure out what they were doing.

Hip Hop Body Shop: Twister Abs ASIN: 6304227558
Customer's Rating: 3 Summary: Fun but not for beginners
Comments: This Hip Hop Body shop video is fun and a good work out, but definitely not for novices. The first couple of routines are easy to follow, but the third one gets a little tricky. Personally, I don't think they spend enough time breaking down the steps. The cover claims that the "new rear view angle" will help, but the video only shows the steps from this position 2-3 times through out the video. However, it is fun and makes you sweat, if you've had dance experience and are coordinated.

Diane Horner: Country Hip Hop Dancing ASIN: 6303025390
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Fun for the whole family!
Comments: I picked a copy of this baby up at my local ..., and am I ever glad I did. If you're a fan of hip-hop AND country music, you'll be ecstatic, as this charming video combines the two styles to SPECTACULAR effect. You may think that line dancing and hip hop don't go together, but don't tell Diane Horner that; she'll prove you wrong faster than you can say "Holla!"

Learn to Dance for Hip-Hop ASIN: 630450005X
Customer's Rating: 1 Summary: Out Dated
Comments: As a dancer my recommendation to everyone out there is do not buy this video! The dance steps are very out-dated; from the 1980's. It doesn't look like any of the presenters are actually experienced dancers. The only thing this video is good for is a lot of laughs. As soon as it started rolling my mouth feel open. I couln't believe someone would actually put this video out on the market. I hope they take it off the market!

MTV Grind Workout: Hip-Hop Aerobics ASIN: 6303421091
Customer's Rating: 3 Summary: A little outdated
Comments: This video was made in '95 and the outfits/scenery is a little outdated. The moves are alright, there were some good and some bad... this is a video that I don't do in front of anyone! I didn't really break a sweat until about 1/4 of the way through the video. The steps are easy though, and it's not hard to follow along. The ab workout at the end is good.

ESPN Fitness Pros: Hip Hop Aerobics ASIN: 6303110126
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: I'm dancing..i'm sweating...i'm dancing...
Comments: This is the first fitness video I ever bought and I'm so glad that I did. Not only does it give you an incredible workout, you learn cool dance moves. Pepper kinda gets on my nerves because it seems like he doesn't know what he's doing sometimes, but the rest of them are good. Donna's segment rocks, but I loved Joel's the best. Must be something about the Charleston--I love learning to dance. It is true that the quality isn't the best, but who cares! Just go with it and have fun!

Hip Hop Dancing ASIN: 6301913795
Customer's Rating: 2 Summary: TOO OLD
Comments: 10 years ago this video would have been helpful but if you want moves you will actually use, find another video. It is incredibly outdated. As far as I am concerned I wasted my money. If you can, check the production dated before you buy!

Hip-Hop Aerobics Vol. 2 ASIN: 6302925711
Customer's Rating: 1 Summary: Don't waste your money
Comments: This is the worst workout tape i have ever laid eyes upon. The instructor goes way too fast and doesn't give info on how to do the steps. What he does best is moves his hips as shown in the warm up and cool down. It made me wonder if i was watching an exercise tape or a porno. The only person who benefits from the tape is M.C. Cash. His dancers are tired out and the viewer is too confused to actually do anything but watch them. This video is not worth 2.00. I beg you please do not waste your money on this sorry excuse of a workout video.

Millennium Dance Complex Instructional Series Introduction to Hip Hop with Shane Sparks ASIN: 0970778899
Customer's Rating: 3 Summary: Poppin' and Wavin' with Mr. Sparks
Comments: This video is definitely a mediocre buy for those interested in learning some contemporary hip hop moves. The production value is low, reminiscent of a home video, and at one point a cameraman enters into the shoot by accident. Also, the host, Chad Celi, is unprofessional and adds nothing to Spark's explanation of what it takes to make it as a professional dancer. However, I found Sparks explaination of how to "pop" and "wave" during hip hop moves useful. I learned that you can add flavour to your moves from numerous spots in your body. There are two lessons total; an introductory routine and an advanced floor routine. The first, a beginner/intermediate routine, is well-explained by Sparks and broken down into manageable and interesting hip hop steps. However, it is not set to music, which limits the viewer's interest in multiple reviewings/sceenings. Also, Sparks asks his dancers numerous times if they have any questions, which is unnecessary and detracts from the already short running time of the video. The second floor routine is short, snappy and catchy, but the sound quality of the music is horrible and the entire dance is explained in a mere eight minutes. Overall, the video isn't worth buying if you want to learn specific steps and musical hip hop routines. I would reccommend this video to a person with previous dance experience and low expectations of sound and picture quality.
