Knockout Workout: Aerobic Boxing ASIN: 6302937027
Customer's Rating: 3 Summary: You feel it the next day
Comments: Once you get past the awful warm-up the video improves. The moves are easy to learn. You can always hit pause and go over them a bit slower if you need to and then jump back in. After the video I didn't think I had worked that hard. (I like to "feel" like I really worked out by finishing off in a sweat amd breathless.) But the next day I felt soreness in my upper back, shoulders, and triceps. I was pleasantly surprised to find out I had actually had a very good workout for the upper body with minimal effort. Just remember to use good form to get the most out of this workout.

Knockout Workout - Kickboxing/Aerobic Boxing ASIN: B00004TJFH
Customer's Rating: 3 Summary: For kickboxing beginners
Comments: In the kickboxing half, Steele (alone in a boxing ring) presents three short routines designed for beginner, intermediate and advanced exercisers. She demonstrates four punches and two kicks, then mixes and matches them in various three- to five- step moves. These moves are repeated throughout the tape, at different speeds and intensities. Because I have kickboxing on three other videos, I thought this tape was a bit too basic. Steele does take the time to break down moves that many other instructors don't bother to explain, namely, the simple jab and other punches. The kicking part of the routine is less impressive, however. She only includes two kicks--the front and roundhouse--and doesn't explain how to execute them as clearly as the punches. The routine is very slow for the first half, so it's not the sort of tape you'll be doing over and over for months. Steele is a bit bland, but not annoying. The music, however, stinks. One logistical problem I encountered . . . Throughout most of the routines, Steele has you move first facing right, then facing left. Consequently, if your TV set is not in the center of the room, you're doing half the routine with your back entirely to the screen. Video instructors usually try to move you forward and backward, or side to side, facing front.

Oscar De La Hoya's Championship Boxing Workout ASIN: B00000J12D
Customer's Rating: 3 Summary: Expected more from a champ
Comments: As a martial artist I'm always searching for new ideas and techniques.I'm a big fan of Oscar and thought this tape would take us inside his training methods but, this tape is really geared toward beginners. There is nothing really new here and the only thing that might be strenous is the extended jump rope sections. The tape is poorly done, you would think they would do a walk through before filming.Oscar and the lady are sometimes out of sequence. Also they talk over each other at times. An ok tape for someone starting a workout program but,a boxer, martial artist, athlete or fitness freak will be dissapointed. Oscar has alot to offer, hopefully in the future he will.
