8 Minute Abs with 8 Minute Arms ASIN: 6304401744
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Great for beginners.
Comments: These workouts are definitely not for those "No Pain, No Gain" people. I love them because even though I was really out of shape, I could do them without being sore the next day. They are quick, and so it's easy to stick with them. These workouts give me a nice little energy boost, and I did see results after about a week. My arms are definitely stronger. And when you get to the point that one workout is no longer a challenge, you can do them back to back to increase endurance.

8 Minute Arms ASIN: 6303500005
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Total arm workout
Comments: 8 Minute Arms is exactly that: 8 minutes of arm exercises with very, very little breaks in between. This is an excellent tape to add to your collection for the days that you really don't feel like working out (but would feel even worse if you don't) or for the days that you want to go easy and just have to do have do a little something. This tape assumes that the viewer is familiar with the exercises and that you have warmed up beforehand. There is no warmup, Jaime jumps into the program immediately after explaining what types of weight to use. Each exercise lasts for 30 seconds and the triceps, biceps, upper back and shoulders are targeted. This tape is challenging for beginners, those who have backslid and someone who wants to get a quick workout with out leaving the house.

QuickFix Legs and Arms Workout ASIN: B00004Z73U
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Great way to squeeze in short but intense toning workouts.
Comments: Like all of the tapes in the Quick Fix series, this video consists of three 10-minute workouts that can be done separately or together. Minna Lessing takes the lead on this tape, with Julie Upton and Nancy Popp in the background. Although short, each workout is fairly intense, but you can stay motivated by watching the countdown clock in the lower right corner. The first workout targets both legs and arms. After a very brief warmup, Minna leads you through a mix of traditional toning exercises such as bicep curls, squats, and lunges; there's also several sets of french presses for the triceps. Many of the exercises consist of leg/arm combinations, and some are pretty tough. The cool-down consists of only one arm stretch. The second workout focuses solely on legs, mostly via squats and lunges. It also contains some leg extensions, both to the side and to the front, and two brief stretches at the end. Finally, workout three is for the arms. Biceps are targeted through single, double, and hammer curls, and tricep exercises include the french press and extensions. Several exercises for shoulders are also included; these are done at a slower 2-count as opposed to the tempo pace of the other exercises. Like the first program, a single stretch is offered for cool-down. Not a lot of instruction is given by Minna, but she and the others are friendly and motivating without being overly peppy. The Quick Fix series is great for those who are time-crunched, and this tape is no exception. For full-body strength training, trying doing all three programs on this tape combined with one of the Quick Fix Tight Abs workouts, and you'll have a great 40-minute workout that just flies by.

Arms and Abs of Steel 2: Complete Upper Body Toning ASIN: 6303284256
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Worth your 40 minutes
Comments: I liked this video because of the arm and shoulder toning. I think most people would need to use weights though in order to see any results. The majority of the routine focuses on arms and not abs and also there is no aerobic section like some of the other Steel videos.

Tamilee Webb: I Want Those Arms ASIN: B000055ZGR
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: It really works!
Comments: Tamilee's workouts are great. This is the 5th tape of hers that I bought. I also have "I want those abs" and when you combine these workouts together, your upper body will look great. Trust me. You have to do them every other day, though. Initially, I was working arms/abs about 3 days a week. I saw some results, but I didn't have the muscle definition she has in her picture on the video cover. About a month ago, I committed to doing them every other day and I can really see the results now. My upper body is the most toned it has ever been. This tape has two 15-minute workouts and I think they are both equally challenging. The second one is supposed to be harder, but personally I don't think they vary that much.

Claudia Schiffer Perfectly Fit: Arms ASIN: 6303912729
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Forearmed is well-armed
Comments: I can think of other more interesting anatomical areas that Schiffer could have covered for an exercise video, but if you're a real arm man, as opposed to one of the other more popular and obvious choices, this video is the hottest thing out there to help your significant other get a leg up on toning up those ubiquitous but often neglected upper extremities.

Bellydance Fitness for Beginners: Arms and Abs ASIN: B00002AFWQ
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Finally, a fun ab and arm routine
Comments: Finally, a video workout for the arms and abs that isn't just crunches and tricep kickbacks. This tape will give your muscles definition and leave you really toned. Watch out! If you are a beginner, the first time you do this your muscles will really feel it. However, by the third run-through you should be feeling stronger. This is my favorite tape of the series - the basics tape is a little too gentle and the lower-body tape was not as interesting.

Hips Abs and Arms Toning ASIN: B00000I1PU
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Gilad is great!
Comments: I love this video! Gilad is a great instructor. He is very encouraging and keeps you going, even when your muscles are burning (and they will!). The early 90's feel of the video is amusing, but doesn't detract from the effectiveness of the workout. After 45 minutes with Gilad you will feel strong, energized and motivated to come back and do it again.

Denise Austin - Hit the Spot:Arms and Bust/Thighs 2pack ASIN: 6305995907
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Great Toning Videos
Comments: We all know that weight training is just as important as the cardio side of fitness. I love these videos! I use them all the time incorporated into my cardio workouts..you will notice a difference! I also recommend the Totally Firm video, wonderful full body toning.

Denise Austin - Get Fit Fast - Arms and Shoulders ASIN: B00005UM4F
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Very good
Comments: I am very happy with this video. I started six weeks ago and sure enough, I have gotten some pretty nice results. While Denise is not my favorite instructor, this video is really good!

Donna Richardson - 30 Days to Firmer Abs and Arms ASIN: B00004Y6AJ
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: It Worked!
Comments: I gradually gained fat after I became 40, and tried Callanetics and several Pilate videos but they did not work on me. In addition, they were too boring. NY City Ballet WO was fairly good (for its gracefull atmosphere and to get good posture) but neither worked on my fat. But this one worked! I did it only 10 times in recent two weeks, and my waist became two inches smaller and my tummy is getting flat! In addition, I feel energized (not exhausted) when I do this video so I believe I can continue doing it until I regain my best shape. Thanks Donna for your cheerful and effective workout!

Men of Steel: Arms of Steel ASIN: 630318183X
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Great for men and women, beginner to advanced.
Comments: After knee surgery, I was unable to do my cardio aerobic tapes. I had always thought strength training to be boring, but in a wheelchair, I had few options. I started doing Arms of Steel with my husband and got hooked! It really works, and the time goes by very quickly.

The Method - Target Specifics: Abs, Arms, Hips, Thighs ASIN: B00000IXOG
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Fitness Fun
Comments: I love this video! I love that it is split up into four sections. Each section is made to work out a specific body part-but you're really working out everything. It is really good if you just have 15-20 minutes in the morning/evening and you want to do something to get your energy up-or you just want to work out. J. Kries is wonderful-my mother is 55 years old and I have to beg her not to steal the video when she comes and visits.

Arms and Abs of Steel 2000: Concentrated Arms and Abdominal Toning ASIN: 6303181953
Customer's Rating: 3 Summary: Its okay.
Comments: Tamilee is great but I did not get the feel from the other two instructors. Its a good workout. Not the best. Its a little confusing with the cardio/step then muscle toning then cardio then muscle. You have to workout, stop pick up weights and back and forth. I do not have strong feelings about this one but I have only tried it once so far.

Arms and Abs Of Steel: Advanced Target Toning For Arms and Stomach ASIN: 6303182305
Customer's Rating: 2 Summary: A dated workout; there are better, more recent choices.
Comments: I received this video in a trade and was quite disappointed. First of all, the appearance is very dated looking, especially given that Tamilee wears a visor throughout the workout. The set is very plain, and the production quality is poor. With respect to the exercises themselves, I'm concerned that some of the moves she does for abs may be bad for the neck. In Tamilee's more recent videos, she has eliminated these exercises, so I wonder if they are no longer recommended. The arms workout is okay and consists of mostly traditional moves, but Tamilee adds twists such as doing a set of bicep curls coming only halfway up instead of a full curl. Again, I wonder about the safety as well as the effectiveness of some of these exercises. I really like Tamilee; I think this video is just too old to be of much use now. If you want to try one of Tamilee's more recent arms and abs workouts, I would recommend her Quick Toning Arms and Abs, which consists of 3 15-minute programs, each combining arms and abs work. She also has several even newer tapes in her "I Want Those..." series; I haven't tried them, but I assume that they would be a vast improvement over this video as well.

Crunch: Best Abs and Arms ASIN: 6304235860
Customer's Rating: 3 Summary: Hard to follow at times, but a decent overall workout.
Comments: I have mixed feelings about this video. First of all, I'm not crazy about the style of the "Crunch" series; the participants always seem a little TOO enthusiastic to me, to the point of coming off as very fake. However, the instructor, Faith, seemed more genuinely motivating; she reminded me of Donna Richardson in exercise style and of Julianne Moore in appearance. I also don't like the extended warm-ups (close to 10 minutes) in the Crunch tapes, as I usually warm up via other exercise before doing toning tapes. The workout itself is divided into four sections, two for arms and two for abs. Faith starts with standing arms work, and this is the section I liked the least. The main thing I disliked was that while working the arms with light weights, you are also moving your legs--lunges, side steps, etc. Fans of "The Firm" series may like this style, but I found that it unncessarily complicates the workout, especially since it isn't really adding much of a leg workout. The arms exercises themselves aren't very challenging, but unforunately, they are done in such a way that it wouldn't be easy to use heavier weights. The second section moves on to floor abs work. In this section, the moves were less complex and better cued. The third section returns to workout the arms, this time on the floor. Again, the moves here were easier to follow and included some tough triceps work. This section includes a brief set of pushups as well as bicep concentration curls done in a kneeling position. In the fourth and final section, Faith returns to the abs--for those of you familiar with the Quick Fix Tight Abs video, you'll recognize the music! In both abs sections, Faith does a variety of moves that are easy to follow and well-cued. So overall, I liked the abs parts of this workout better than the arms parts, and I especially didn't like the more complex choreography in the first section. Those who enjoy The Firm videos might find the style of video more enjoyable than I did, although they might also be disappointed with the difficulty level.

Cory Everson: Get Hard: Arms and Shoulders ASIN: 6303203264
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Great personal training in a video!
Comments: Very easy to follow. Slow, precise movements. Go through all the weight lifting exercises and repitions with Cory Everson. I feel fantastic after the workout. It motivates me to make healthy meal choices throughout the rest of the day because I focus more on what my muscles need to perform and grow, rather than what my emotions want me to devour. I am seeing definition in my shoulders and arms. Highly recommended for the home gym.

Tamilee Webb: Quick Toning - Arms and Abs of Steel ASIN: 6303381332
Customer's Rating: 3 Summary: seems to be not enough exercise!
Comments: I wish someone could actually make a workout tape that has a full upper body workout. People seem to forget that "upper body" is the shoulders, arms, upper back, and chest. And unluckily this tape doesn't do it either. Like it says on the title "Arms" and "abs" only. there are 3 workouts, and each is 15mins long, but take away the warm up and cool down and its only 9-10mins of actual exercises, which for arms AND abs isn't really enough to make a difference.

Sexy Arms ASIN: B000065B20
Customer's Rating: 4 Summary: There is hope that I will one day see my triceps!
Comments: I have done this workout twice this week. I definitely feel it and am anxious to see the results in a few weeks. I am alternating this with other workout tapes but could probably do 2 tapes together. This one isn't tiring, but with hand weights it was making me sweat a little. Good pace for me and good instructions. It's a no-frills workout without a lot of chatter and that is great in my opinion.

Donna Richardson: 30 Days to Firmer Abs and Arms ASIN: 0764000926

ESPN Fitness Bodyshaping - Arms, Chest and Shoulders ASIN: 6303682928
Customer's Rating: 5 Summary: Fast moving, but intense workout
Comments: This video is a great arm workout. There is a short warm up and stretch before you jump right into the chest exercises (you will need a step to do the incline and flat chest flys). Then the video moves on to shoulders with plenty of exercises to make them burn. The last part of the video concentrates on triceps and biceps with a little forearm work. The 2 instructors are very encouraging and move very quickly from one exercise to the next, but they do take some time to do a couple quick streches in between sets. The actual workout is alittle over 20 minutes, and your muscles will definitely burn when you are done !
