They are quick, and so it's easy to stick with them. These workouts give me a nice little energy boost, and I did see results after about a week. My arms are definitely stronger. And when you get to the point that one workout is no longer a challenge, you can do them back to back to increase endurance.

Comments: It's my frist Kathy Smith's video and i'm not as pleased as I thought I would be...it's short and I didn't feel the ab muscles at all after the workout. I,however,loved the intro where kathy explains Pilates. It is worth giving a try but don't get too excited. It is reserved for beginners because I, as an intermediate/advanced exerciser, am only going to use this one when i'm crunched for time.

Comments: ok, i know it hasnt come out, but I saw a clip of it, and letting everybody know whats in store with this video.
It is about 55 minutes long, and it is a compilation of all the 'live' volumes, i think volumes 2-12.
It wasn't redone, just all the volumes edited together.
It seems to be about 25mins of kicks and some other 20 or so on toning the abs.
It has many of the old moves, but some are slightly changed, maybe makes them more advanced than the old positions.
I just think they should had re-recorded these 'ultimate' series, because u can see the people's outfits change every few minutes! that is why i give it 4 stars and not the 5.

Comments: this video is about 30mins long, it starts with about a 3-4 minute warm-up and then its an 8 minute abs workout, I will say that the pace goes very fast, and your heart rate will definitely go up a bit, you do crunches of all kinds, and do a few really good exercises for the lower abs, which is excellent because most of us have that problem area that won't go away!
then proceeds to the buns...all I can say ouch! that goes for about 7-8mins also, for those exersises you get on all fours and lift up the legs to every direction, then lie down on your stomach and do some more buns and lower back exercises, then do some 5 or so minutes of abs, which focus more on lower abs...then a good cool down.
This is a good workout, I highly recommend it to people who are in the advanced level...but when I got it, I was a beginner/intermidiate, and now I can definitely feel harder abs and buns.
Just stick with it!

Comments: I have a collection of half a dozen workout tapes, but this is one of my favorites. The routines are interesting enough to do frequently. After you've been thru it a few times, you may find that the detailed instructions slow you down a bit, but not too much. The first half is warmup and aerobics, the 2nd half hour is toning and stretching, so its a nice mix and you can do the segments independently. Music is not obtrusive. Instructors are perky and easy to follow. I recommend having a pad/mat for the toning sections.

They are ab sections taken from the classics of the Firm (Vol 1 - 6) This is a great supplement to any workout that doesn't include ab work or doesn't include enough of it. This is especially good to use with some of the firm videos that came out in 2002 that do not include any ab work.
I only wish there were more workouts on this one tape, but I guess you can get The Firms - More 5 day abs if you need variety.

Comments: I am glad to read in another review that it was hard to follow even if you had taken a lot of aerobics classes, because I kept losing focus when I would get lost. The routine built to a very complicated dance that was too hard to follow without stopping to rewind a bit and finally give up and make up something to keep my heart rate up.
I hated the chatting between the instructors, and I thought the abs section was really too light. If you do a lot of cheerleading-type dance, and you are looking for a low-impact tape, I am sure this is great.

Summary: It Worked!
Comments: I gradually gained fat after I became 40, and tried Callanetics and several Pilate videos but they did not work on me. In addition, they were too boring.
NY City Ballet WO was fairly good (for its gracefull atmosphere and to get good posture) but neither worked on my fat.
But this one worked!
I did it only 10 times in recent two weeks, and my waist became two inches smaller and my tummy is getting flat!
In addition, I feel energized (not exhausted) when I do this video so I believe I can continue doing it until I regain my best shape.
Thanks Donna for your cheerful and effective workout!

Comments: I ususally love denise austin with her goofy attitude and her energy. I also like the fact that im clumsy and have no dance skills she makes her choreography easy to follow. However i was a little dissapointed in this video. I didnt get a good ab work out. i thought it was ineffective and way too easy. the second and third session is somewhat challenging but ill stick with the firm 5 day abs.

I won't lie the background, music and the outfits are rather cheesy, but the workouts themselves cover the entire abs.
You get the usual crunches, but are very slow, so it makes them harder!
Each 15min workout gets a warm-up, which i never use, and has a good stretch at the end of each secment.
Tamilee is a great instructor, she is not annoying like other instructors.

Comments: This is a fantastic tape. This workout really works your entire upper body. My back, arms and abls are all visibly tighter, and my posture has greatly improved. I'm very glad I found this tape. I have never gotten any results with my arms before. Ms. Voight takes each exercise slowly, so you get the full benefit of each movement. I've used tapes where they do everything too quickly for it to do any good.
By the way, you don't need a step if you can improvise with your equipment a little. I chose to buy an incline board instead and my workout room has a step.

Comments: I really like this exercise video. You really work those specific areas (abs, butt and thighs). After I had my son, it was hard getting those problem areas. Summary: A dated workout; there are better, more recent choices.
Comments: I received this video in a trade and was quite disappointed. First of all, the appearance is very dated looking, especially given that Tamilee wears a visor throughout the workout. The set is very plain, and the production quality is poor. With respect to the exercises themselves, I'm concerned that some of the moves she does for abs may be bad for the neck. In Tamilee's more recent videos, she has eliminated these exercises, so I wonder if they are no longer recommended. The arms workout is okay and consists of mostly traditional moves, but Tamilee adds twists such as doing a set of bicep curls coming only halfway up instead of a full curl. Again, I wonder about the safety as well as the effectiveness of some of these exercises.
I really like Tamilee; I think this video is just too old to be of much use now. If you want to try one of Tamilee's more recent arms and abs workouts, I would recommend her Quick Toning Arms and Abs, which consists of 3 15-minute programs, each combining arms and abs work. She also has several even newer tapes in her "I Want Those..." series; I haven't tried them, but I assume that they would be a vast improvement over this video as well.

Summary: One of the Top Three...
Comments: This is among my top three favorite Firm tapes. I know some have indicated that they don't like the instructor LaReine, but I have no problem with her. She's very calm and gives clear instructions. If you want a great lower body workout, this tape will definitely give it to you and in less than an hour a session.
My other top favorites include The Firm Total Body Low Impact Aerobics tape (number 1 in my book). Janet Jones Gretzky, makes it enjoyable, yet challenging at the same time and you work up a serious sweat.But don't be fooled by the notion that this is a "low impact" tape. IT IS NOT!
Number 2 -- in fact, almost in a tie for first place on my list -- is the first Firm tape ever starring Susan Harris. You'll barely remember your name when you're done 65 minutes later . But your body will look -- and feel -- great.
The Firm - Firm Parts: 5-Day Abs

Summary: Hard to follow at times, but a decent overall workout.
Comments: I have mixed feelings about this video. First of all, I'm not crazy about the style of the "Crunch" series; the participants always seem a little TOO enthusiastic to me, to the point of coming off as very fake. However, the instructor, Faith, seemed more genuinely motivating; she reminded me of Donna Richardson in exercise style and of Julianne Moore in appearance. I also don't like the extended warm-ups (close to 10 minutes) in the Crunch tapes, as I usually warm up via other exercise before doing toning tapes.
The workout itself is divided into four sections, two for arms and two for abs. Faith starts with standing arms work, and this is the section I liked the least. The main thing I disliked was that while working the arms with light weights, you are also moving your legs--lunges, side steps, etc. Fans of "The Firm" series may like this style, but I found that it unncessarily complicates the workout, especially since it isn't really adding much of a leg workout. The arms exercises themselves aren't very challenging, but unforunately, they are done in such a way that it wouldn't be easy to use heavier weights. The second section moves on to floor abs work. In this section, the moves were less complex and better cued. The third section returns to workout the arms, this time on the floor. Again, the moves here were easier to follow and included some tough triceps work. This section includes a brief set of pushups as well as bicep concentration curls done in a kneeling position. In the fourth and final section, Faith returns to the abs--for those of you familiar with the Quick Fix Tight Abs video, you'll recognize the music! In both abs sections, Faith does a variety of moves that are easy to follow and well-cued.
So overall, I liked the abs parts of this workout better than the arms parts, and I especially didn't like the more complex choreography in the first section. Those who enjoy The Firm videos might find the style of video more enjoyable than I did, although they might also be disappointed with the difficulty level.
Yoga Zone - Yoga for Abs

Summary: Two short, relaxing workouts providing gentle abs stretch.
Comments: This tape consists of two short workouts--the box says that each is 20 minutes, though the actual timing is more like 18 minutes per workout. The first is led by Al Bingham with assistant Jen, and the second is Jennifer with assistant Jeanne. Both programs provide gentle stretching for the abs area. There is a lot of instruction, which is good for beginners, but it also detracts from the intensity of the workout. A few of the moves are held for an extended period of time and thus cause the muscles to work a little harder, but overall, I would classify this video as more of an abs relaxation/stretch rather than abs toning. For a more intense yoga workout for abs, I recommend Rodney Yee's Abs Yoga for Beginners.

Summary: The BEST abs workout ever!
Comments: Keli is a professional and she delivers results, not only - "easy and fast" but really - a workout. Good work, Keli, and I hope to see more of her tapes in the market.
P.S. Most of her exercises require to control your posture.
Therefore, I think, many users of the tape do not get the results they could just because it is so easy to do these exercises in a wrong way.
